Dr Peter Forrester

Dr Peter Forrester qualified as a doctor in 1977. His postgraduate medical training was initially in anaesthesia and as a Consultant at a London Teaching Hospital he specialised in anaesthesia for plastic and cosmetic surgery and is one of the most highly regarded doctors in this field. During the last 25 years Peter has worked with London's leading cosmetic surgeons and it was because of this involvement that he became interested in cosmetic medicine, non-surgical & injectable treatments and facial anti-ageing. In 1988 he left the health service in order to continue with anaesthesia for cosmetic surgery and develop his own practice of non-surgical treatments. In 2011 he decided to found The Cosmetic Doctors Company and move his popular practices at Teddington, Cobham and Esher Green Surgery to a new clinic in Esher, situated in Esher Park Avenue.

Peter's 30 years of experience as an anaesthetist has given him particular expertise with injectable treatments. He has demonstrated and lectured about the Artiste Assisted Injection System for dermal fillers. The Artiste system results in a very controlled and precise placement of fillers and also allows the use of ultra-fine needles. These are virtually painless and cause much less swelling and bruising. Although experienced in the use of many types of fillers Peter still prefers Restylane and in some circumstances Emervel. Restylane is one the most widely used hyaluronic acid fillers and has a long safety record. Peter is always wary about adopting the use of new fillers until time has proven their efficacy and importantly a lack of adverse effects.

Hyaluronic dermal fillers have an essential role in restoring lost volume, plumping lines and hydrating the skin. However, Peter believes that first it is important to analyse the structure and harmony of the whole face followed by a detailed discussion of all the treatment options. This will result in the most appropriate and beneficial treatment.
