CRM® - Dermal Fillers
This product was introduced in the UK in March of 2008. It is manufactured by a German company that is also known to have produced Matridur and Matridex. It has yet to gain much prominence in the UK market, so not many practitioners are known to currently use this product. Overall, it produces good results according to the feedback from the people who’ve used it. It uses Butanedioldiglycidylether (BDDE), an agent for crosslinking, which is one of the most popular crosslinking agents that have increased resistance against gel degradation. This adds to the credibility of the product because gel degradation is a factor that many practitioners take into account. The resistance determines the durability and general quality levels. Additionally, it is also less toxic.
A Non–Animal Hyaluronic Acid gel, CRM is charged positively within two product formulations and is made by fermentation of streptococci bacteria. It is not permanent in constituency since hyaluronic acid eventually breaks down in the body and another treatment will be necessary to achieve the desired look once more. The product comes in five kinds: crm-DEX™, crm-DX™, crm-GEL™, crm-DUR™ and crm-SOFT™.
For crm-DEX™ is 17mg/ml of the hyaluronic acid and 25mg/ml of dextranomeres. It can be used for treating deep wrinkles and folds such as nasolabial and marionette. It can also be used for lip augmentation. The recommended amount is one 1 ml syringes applied with a needle of 27 gauge. Crm-DX™ is made up of 17mg.ml of acid and 50mg.ml of dextranomeres. It can be used for treatments involving facial or cheek contours with amounts and syringe specification similar to crm-DEX™. Crm-GEL™ uses 4mg/ml of pure acid and 16mg/ml of cross-linked acid. It is designed for use in handling folds, lip augmentation and deep wrinkles with 29 gauge needles. Crm-DUR™, 14mg/ml of cross-linked hyaluronic acid, is suitable for wrinkles around the mouth and eyes, as well as superficial lines on the face.
Finally, crm-SOFT™ product uses 14mg/ml of hyaluronic acid. It is suitable for biorejuvenation and rehydration of the face, neck, hands and decolletage with the use of a mesotherapy technique. 1 x 1 ml syringes are appropriate with needles of gauge 30. Some of the expected side effects include pain, swelling, itching and redness. Recovery is very quick, taking one to two days for skin injection and around a week for injections on the lips.
