Lip Lines - Dermal Fillers
Lip lines are one of those inevitable signs of aging that people would rather ignore. Unfortunately, they can continue developing to advanced stages and become even more unsightly and humiliating. With today’s advanced knowledge and technology, aging lips can appear youthful once again with minimum effort.
A healthy percentage of lip lines are caused by natural aging, but there are cases where they can also be caused by exposure to sun and, of course, cigarette smoking. The effects of cigarette smoking that leads to lip lines can be chemical in composition, which means that what you see are not just lines on the lips but a part of the lip that has been damaged by chemical action or reaction, depending on what kind of cigarette is used.
Smoking has far greater harmful effects compared to factors, like aging and sun. The reality of smoking is that you are literally burning your lips. You are not doing it with fire alone, but with other chemical substances in the process of burning to produce smoke, which is a chemical process by itself.
There are new and interesting ways for treating lip lines. Fillers still rate high on the list with impressive results when the right type is used and the perfect procedure followed. Relevant fillers can be injected into the lips as a means of treatment. They produce an effect that makes the lips look really full and they completely fill up the lines so that they cannot be noticed.
There are also other methods, like laser treatments, which aid in production of new tissues that work to rejuvenate the lips so that they look young and fresh. Collagen is one of the common and most used dermal fillers for treating lip lines. It replaces the collagen lost and has almost instantaneous effects. Collagen based treatments are temporary and often last for a period of approximately 3 months. Hyaluronic acid based treatment can also be used for tightening and smoothing the area affected by lip lines.
