I want fuller looking cheeks, what would be the best treatment for myself?

July 27th, 2012
Q.
Hiya Adrian, If I wanted fuller looking cheeks what would be the best treatment for myself? I have quite a skinny face and I wouldn’t want it too look obvious I’ve had dermal fillers, I just think I’d look better with a bit bigger cheeks. I’ve never had anything like this before and just wanted to know about the different options available for myself? There are so many different brands i wouldn’t know where to start, any feedback would be great thanks!
A.
Hi

Thank you very much for your enquiry.

It is possible to increase the volume of your cheeks naturally with a moderate amount of dermal fillers. This is done by our experienced practioners who will give you a very natural, fuller appearance in your cheeks.

You are right there are a number of different brands and we normally recommened Juvederm which is an Allergan product and gives a very good soft natural appearance.

If you feel you would like to schedule an appointment with one of our specialist practitioners please do so by ringing our office on 01844 214362.

Thanks.
A.
Hi Thank you for your recent enquiry.

An outline can cause rashes and does take some time to go and I think it would be possible to have further treatments and we generally recommend hyaluronic acid which is safe in my experience.

If you patient does have Herper Zoster we would recommend that you cover her with appropriate prophylactic against this with any inejction techniques.

I am looking for treatment on a few different areas and wondering which can be treated with dermal fillers?

July 16th, 2012
Q.
Hello Dr Richards
I would like to treat a number of different areas to stop me looking as old as I do at the moment! But was unsure what dermal fillers can actually be used for. Ok, so here is the list:
Jaw line, around eyes, nose to my top lip, lips

what of those am I able to have treated with dermal fillers?

I would really appreciate any help you can give me on the matter

thank you very much for your time.

A.
Hi

Thank you for very much for your enquiry.

It certainly does sound as if non surgical treatments such as dermal fillers may be suitable for you. They are particularly good for lines from the nose to the top lip and from the corner of the mouth.

It might be helpful if you could send us some photos of the area to info@aurora-clinics.co.uk and we would be able to give you a more definitive answer.

Alternatively we could schedule you a free consultation with one of our practitioners who would be be able to discuss the best way forward.

I am unhappy with the shape of my nose, its pointy and turned up. Is there a way to fix this with fillers?

July 16th, 2012
Q.
Hey there Adrian, I’m unhappy with the shape of my nose, at the end it’s quite pointy and turned up. I was looking to change this but did not want to spend a lot of money on drastic surgery. So I have been looking into fillers. I was wondering because my nose is turned up at the end, is there a way where they can make it less prominent or look a little softer? With fillers on the nose, how often do you need them re doing? And which filler is best for the nose? Thanks a lot! Regards x
A.
Hi

Thank you for your enquiry.

I am sorry to hear that you are unhappy with the shape of your nose. It certainly is possible to change this possibly with a dermal filler injection. This is quite a specilised treatment and it would be best for you to come in person to see one of our aesthetic specalists.

All our consultations are free of charge and we would be delighted to see you in the clinic.

Catherine Reeve can arrange an appointment for you if you so wish and you can contact her on 01844 214362.

Many thanks for your enquiry.

Is there a way to test for allergies of filler or botox treatment before hand?

July 3rd, 2012
Q.
Hello there Adrian, I have read on your site that you can experience allergic reactions to the filler/botox treatments. I am considering treatment for my crows feet but worried that I would encounter a reaction, however slim. Is there a way you could test the treatment on the patient before you actually use it to see if there would be a reaction? Like how they ask you on the back of hair dyes to test the product on your hand before you place it on your hair? Thanks for your time and any advice you can give me.
A.
Hi

Thank you for your enquiry.

It is very unusual to experience allergic reactions to fillers or Botox.

Botox is normally used for the crows feet area and I have never seen an allergic reaction ot Botox and is extremely rare.

I have never experienced hair dye reacting with Botox.

I think overall non surigcal teatments would be very safe in your case and if you would like any more information please contact us via Catherin Reeve on 01844 214362.

I had fillers and then botox, shouldn’t the procedure be the other way around?

June 12th, 2012
Q.
Hi there, I have recently had teosyal dermal filler between my eyebrows. As I had two lines I I directly between my eyes, I was initially going for Botox but after a consultation with my nurse she recommended filler a tue lines were quite deep. I had this done 3days ago and she is coming back in two weeks to top up, she only put a small amount to see how it takes then will add some more, she also said she would put some Botox there too. I have just read that it should be done the other way round. What should my next step be, just take some Botox and leave the additional top up of filler and just see how it looks??
A.
Thank you very much for your question. You are right that we do normally recommend having Botox injections before fillers.

The reason is that the Botox weakens the line and therefore it becomes less deep. You therefore need less filler following the Botox.

It may be that your practitioner prefers a different method and I am sure that Botox works well.
I think it would be worthwhile discussing this fully with your practitioner and I wish you the best of luck.

Best wishes

How does Belatero compare to Sculptra? Which has the best results?

June 12th, 2012
Q.
how does belatero compare to sculptra ? how long do th results last and how often should it be done ? is the cost comparable to sculptra. I have had sculptra done but would like more noticeable immediate results. i have deep wrinkles in my chin area around my mouth, will this help? sculptra helped fill out my cheeks with one appointment, but need more around my mouth. I am 58 years o0ld but the lines are caused a lot from tanning. Can I still tan without affecting the belatero ?
A.
Belatero and Sculptra work in a different way. Belatero is hyaluronic acid which is a filler which goes under the lines in the cheeks, filling them out and principally used for the nose to mouth lines and the lines coming down from the corners of the mouth.

Sculptra on the other hand is used to rejuvenate the whole cheek area in most cases. It consists of molecule granules which stimulate your body to make tissue around them. This simulates the effect of young skin which is thicker and plumper than slightly older skin.

Sculptra is generally used for wider areas whereas Belatero is used for more localised lines in the face.
I think it would be sensible to do research on both of these procedures. Best Wishes.

What is the best method for correcting post-liposculpture in men?

June 8th, 2012
Q.
What is the best method of correcting post-liposculpture (for gynaecomastia) flesh depression in a man? The breast glands were removed when it would have been better to leave a nub of fat there. There is now a concave depression under each nipple and there also seems to be some adhesion of the skin to the underlying layers in the vacated area.

Hyaluronic fillers seem only to be temporary, and Alloderm doesn’t seem to be available in the UK.

Is there a permanent / semipermanent biological matrix available on the market?

A.
Hi

Thank you very much for your enquiry.

I am afraid that correcting post lipo sculture problems for gynaecomastia is slightly tricky and it maybe that further surgery is appropriate and the best substance to use in my opinion is you own fatty tissue . This is because it is natural and unlike Dermal Fillers, which, in most cases, does not completely asborb.

I think it would be best for you to schedule a meeting with a consultanet who specialises in breast surgery to discuss the best way forward for you,.

I am considering permanent dermal fillers but are they dangerous?

June 1st, 2012
Q.
Hi Adrian,

I have had numerous temporary dermal fillers over the last few years and all have been successful and I’ve looked good. I was considering having a more permanent dermal filler, I have read numerous articles that because they use synthetic particles they will not be absorbed back into the body (which is obviously why its permanent) but there has been some major medical concerns with this? Do you provide permanent dermal fillers at your clinic and how safe actually are they? Thank you!

A.
Thank you for your enquiry.

Unfortunately we do not recommend permanent dermal fillers as these can intergrate in the skin and the face does change with time.

The problem with dermal fillers is that they can be difficult to remove once they are inserted if your body reacts in a certain way.

Generally we would advise that it is safer to stick with the temporary dermal fillers and we would be happy to advise on the best treatment for you if you send a photo to info@aurora-clinics.co.uk.

If you would like to book a consultation please call Aurora Skin Clinics on 01844 390110.
