A patient developed a rash after having Outline 3 years ago, she would like further treatment for lines and wrinkles, can she be treated with HA’s or Sculptra?

I have a patient that had Outline 3 years ago ,she developed a rash which still is visable when her skin is hot .she initailly developed redness and moderate swelling around her eye and mouth which was the area of the injections.She had had botox with no ill affect ,She would also like further treatments for lines and wrinkles ,can she be treated subsequently with HAs and or Sculptra for lower facial volume loss safely

Thank you for your enquiry.

An outline can cause rashes and does take some time to go and I think it would be possible for her to have further treatment and we would generally recommend hyaluronic acid as they are safe in my experience.

If your patient does have Herpes Zoster we would recommend that you cover her with appropriate prophylactic against this with any injection technique.
