I’m spending a lot of money on make up and beauty products, is it better value for money to try dermal fillers?

October 17th, 2012
Q.
Hi, quick question Adrian – I seem to be spending a lot recently on make up and beauty products to make me look younger and my skin firmer. Probably around £40 per month if not more. I have never had any cosmetic surgery and was just wondering if you think it may be better value for money to try Botox or a dermal filler? Can you buy a few treatments at a time to bring down the cost or is it just one off treatments only? Thanks Adrian hope to hear from you soon!
A.
You are right that non surgical treatments may be better value money for you in the long run.

I think it would be best if you sent a photo of the areas of concern to us at info@aurora-clinics.co.uk and we will provide you with our expert advice on the best way forward.

I have developed some stubborn acne on my cheeks, could i still get dermal fillers in my cheeks?

October 17th, 2012
Q.
Hello Dr Richards, I’m 57 and have gone through some changes recently that all older women go through. I had developed some stubborn acne on my cheeks which has been embarrassing. I’ve been wanting dermal fillers in my cheeks for a while but I’m not sure with this acne if its the right time for me to have this? What is your opinion on this? I have been to see my dermatologist but there isn’t a lot you can do with hormonal acne. I’m just using antibiotics and face wash. Awaiting your feedback, thanks, Polly
A.
Hi

Thank you for your enquiry about acne on your cheeks.

It certainly would be possible to consider Dermaroller or possibly other skin treatments to help you with these.

I think it would be best to come and see one of our practitioners to discuss the best way forward for you and you can arrange this consultation by ringing us on 01844 214362.

Many thanks for your question.

I have very sunken eyes can this be fixed with dermal fillers?

October 17th, 2012
Q.
Hi Dr Adrian Richards, i hope you are well – I have an issue whereby I have very sunken eyes that make me look very unhealthy when im not. There doesn’t appear to be anywhere that deals with this issue. I don’t believe its that common around people my age (31).is there a procedure in UK to correct this and how much is it likely to cost. I look forward to your response, thank you.
A.
Hi

Thank you very much for your question.

It is possible for you to treat sunken eyes with dermal filler injections.

This is a very specialist treatment and you need to see a specialist doctor to see you to advise on this.

Unfortunately we do not perform this surgery around the eyes but we do perform a number of eyelid surgery operations and have an eyelid surgeon who my be able to discuss the best way forward for you if you are considering eyelid surgery.

Mnay thanks for your enquiry.

I have a deep Glabella line and am wanting to know is there a permanent solution to reducing or removing it?

October 12th, 2012
Q.
Dear Dr Richards.
I’m a 29 year old male and I have a single deep Glabella line. It is fairly deep and has become more noticeable over the past few years. I want to know if there is a permanent solution to reducing or removing this line, or what other options are available.
Any information you could provide me with I would be grateful as I’m confused about dermal / Botox and laser.
Regards!
A.
Thank you for your enquiry. The normal way of reducing glabella lines is with botox therapy. Botox works by relaxing the muscle and it is the muscle tht causes the line. Botox acutally can become quite a permanent procedure if you do repeat it over a couple of years as the muscle that produces the frown line starts to weaknen. There are other alternatives which involves more permanent reduction but these do require an operation. I think it would be worthwhile considering botox as an option and if you feel you would like to schedule a possible consultation to discus the best way forward for you pelase contact us on 01844 214362.

I’m getting married in 6 months and was wondering when would be the best time to get dermal fillers?

October 12th, 2012
Q.
Hi Adrian, I’m getting married in 6 months time which i’m very excited about. Now obviously everyone wants to look perfect at their wedding so i was thinking about having dermal fillers as i’m not 21 any more. I was wondering what would be the best time to get dermal fillers around my eyes in order to look the freshest? I just wouldn’t want me to get them too close to the wedding and them not have set properly or still be sore? Hope you can help, thanks Adrian!
A.

I have excess skin hanging down under my chin, can i dermal filler help to firm this up?

October 12th, 2012
Q.
Hi there Adrian I hope your OK. Underneath my chin i am getting some excess skin hanging down and wobbling when i talk! Which has never been a good look! I was wondering if any dermal filler would work to firm this bit of skin up? Is an operation to remove the excess skin a better way? I just thought having a facelift was slightly too drastic as dermal fillers seem quite easy and safe? Hope to hear from you soon!
A.
Hi

It is possible to tighten up the skin on your neck either with surgery or botox injections. Botox injections tend to weaken the muscles which pull the skin downwards.

I think it would be worthwhile considering these options and if you would like to book a consultation to discuss the options available to you please do call my office on 01844 214362.

I’ve started getting wrinkles at the age of 19, am i too young for dermal fillers?

October 5th, 2012
Q.
Hi Adrian, I’m 19 years old and i can see myself that i am already getting some wrinkles. Especially round my eyes, unfortunately i started smoking when i was 15 🙁 I was basically just wondering if you thought it was a bit drastic to have dermal fillers seen as though i’m only 19? My mum doesn’t think i should but i am very self concious about it, could you recommend anything else that could reduce the wrinkles around my eyes? Look forward to hearing back!
A.
Thank you very much for your enquiry.

If you do have wrinkles around your eyes at 19 you are slightly unlucky and ideally it would be best to stop smoking as this can make the lines worse.

19 is a little bit young to have dermal fillers or Botox which are normally used to treat these areas, however I think it might be helpful to send photos to us of the areas of concern to you at infor@aurora-clinics.co.uk and we may be able to give you advise as to the best way forward for you.

I am unhappy with the appearance of the scars in my armpit, is there anything you can do?

October 5th, 2012
Q.
Dear Dr Richards,
Hello! I am an international student who is studying in North Wales. May I have some questions please because I am so upset these days of my problem. I had a surgery about seven years ago of my armpits which took the sweat gland to get rid of the smell. However, it left ugly scars in my armpits. I feel so regretful now. Just a few months ago I got an laser treatment in my country when I am back for summer. I am so sad that they are not professional at all, neither of the laser equipment. After that, my scars seem like flatten a bit , however, some pigment still leaves on. Therefore, I am so worried that my situation can not improve at all, will it? I really want the scars and pigment to be improved, at least not so visible as I am a girl and I can’t explain more how much I hate it. May I ask that am I the first case of this you have ever met? Would you help me to get some improvement please? If there are any treatments, are they surgical or non-surgical? How will the effect be? Looking forward to hearing from you soon. I would really appreciate it . Thank you very much.
Kind regards!
A.
Thank you very much for your enquiry.

Sorry you are so updset about the appearance of your scars in your armpit areas.

It certainly sounds as if it may be possible to improve the scars with further surgery or possible treatments to flatten the scar.

I think it would be helpful to send us photos of the scars ath info@aurora-clinics.co.uk and we will be delighted to give you an opinon as to the best way forward.

Alternatively you could scheduled a consutlation to come and see one of our surgerons we will be happy to discuss options with you.

I have wrinkles forming on my forehead what should i do?

October 5th, 2012
Q.
Hello Adrian, I am from Austria. I am 28 years old and am modelling in Germany at the moment. I have noticed that i have wrinkles forming on my head above my eyes. I think i am angry too much haha! What is the best way to get rid of these lines in my forehead, i can use make up but when i don’t have any on i feel like everyone is looking at them. What is your advice please, thank you very much!
A.
Thank you very much for your enquiry.

It does sounds as if Botox would be the ideal treatment for you to treat the lines in your forehead.

Theses lines are caused underlying muscle contraction and are generally best treated with Botox rather than Dermal Fillers.

It may be sensible to scheuled an appointment with a surgeon in your area to discuss the best way forward for you.

Alaternatively if you sent our a photo of the areas of concern to info@aurora-clinics.co.uk we would be delighted to give you an opionion as ot the best way forward.

I have have no allergies. I have been advised to have Bolatero intense.Would it be better to have this every six months or pay double every 12 months Thank you!
A.
Thank you for your enquiry about dermal fillers to your cheeks.

There are a number of fillers including belatero, however we tend to use the allergan products such as juvederm.

It would be best for you to be seen in person in the clinic to assess the best way forward.

We generally find this approach works very well and we would be delighted to see you in person to discuss the best way forward for you.
