How safe are dermal fillers?

June 17th, 2013
Q.
Are dermal fillers actually safe and do they work.

Can they be used under the eye and forehead? Does it involve complications, i.e. side effects or any unwanted results.

How long does it last and are the results drastic? Do they involve blood being re-injected into the face and are the results instant. How much does it generally cost? Also how much is rhino plastic surgery – straightening the nose.

Hi
Dermal fillers are safe and work! – they are made from hyaluronic acid, which is a naturally occurring substance in the body. Hyaluronic acid binds water to keep skin looking healthy, hydrated and firm – you can see the results immediately following placement. They do not involve blood being re-injected.
It is a medical procedure, so there are some possible risks, but if performed by a qualified doctor these are minimalised. Using different products they can be used under the eye and forehead.
Costs usually starts from £250 upwards depending on the amount required and area it is placed and last usually 4-6 months.
Dermal fillers can be used to change the appearance of the nose.
Good luck

Would it be possible to reshape my nose with dermal fillers?

January 7th, 2013
Q.
Hiya, I’ve been looking into possibly undergoing a non surgical nose reshape, I’ve got a slight bump on the bridge of my nose that I’d just like flattened, to create a more flat nose shape from a profile view. I’ve been researching different non surgical treatments, including Radiesse and Aquamid, I wanted something that was as long lasting as possible so I can avoid having to have the procedure re-done. I’m a 19 year old male, I was wondering what options I have, obviously trying to keep the costs to a minimum but still keeping a great and long lasting result. I look forward to hearing from you.

Hello,
To be honest right from the start; I have no personal experience of nasal reshaping with fillers and it is not something that I would do. I would suggest however, that before you allow someone to inject a long-lasing filler such as Aquamid into your nose it might be a good idea to try a HA filler first. Although this is not a long term solution it would allow you to see whether you like the effect. If it wasn’t quite what you were hoping for then at least it would slowly disappear or you could have hyalase injected to disperse it.
You are obviously doing some research, which is good. Be very careful and good luck.
