I am considering permanent dermal fillers but are they dangerous?

June 1st, 2012
Q.
Hi Adrian,

I have had numerous temporary dermal fillers over the last few years and all have been successful and I’ve looked good. I was considering having a more permanent dermal filler, I have read numerous articles that because they use synthetic particles they will not be absorbed back into the body (which is obviously why its permanent) but there has been some major medical concerns with this? Do you provide permanent dermal fillers at your clinic and how safe actually are they? Thank you!

A.
Thank you for your enquiry.

Unfortunately we do not recommend permanent dermal fillers as these can intergrate in the skin and the face does change with time.

The problem with dermal fillers is that they can be difficult to remove once they are inserted if your body reacts in a certain way.

Generally we would advise that it is safer to stick with the temporary dermal fillers and we would be happy to advise on the best treatment for you if you send a photo to info@aurora-clinics.co.uk.

If you would like to book a consultation please call Aurora Skin Clinics on 01844 390110.

Are dermal fillers safe if you are trying to conceive?

June 1st, 2012
Q.
Hi Adrian,
Me and my husband are trying for a baby, i’ve had juvederm on previous occassions and its been great! I was just wanting to know if there are any risks involved in having fillers while pregnant or does it have any effect on concieving? I just want to stand the best chance of getting pregnant but I also want to look nice and healthy at the same time! So is there any restrictions that you are aware of?
A.
Thank you very much for your enquiry, generally we don’t recommend having fillers while you are pregnant although this has not been shown to have any risk to your baby or any effect on getting pregnant, it is generally not considered safe practice to have filler treatments at this stage.

We would however be delighted to see you again in clinic to discuss the best way forward for you when you have had your baby.

Many thanks for your enquiry we do look forward to meeting you in the near future.

Best wishes

Yours sincerely
