How can I firm up lines and wrinkles?

November 15th, 2013
Q.
Hi Dr Thorne,
I have purchased a product which is meant to firm up lines and wrinkles with ions-but so far I havent seen any improvement.
I am 37 and have lines around my eyes and just above my eyebrows. Should I continue to use this (it cost me £100) or seek Botox treatment or fillers? The lines I have are not very bad but they are getting worse over time so I would like to stop them from getting deeper whilst they are not too bad. What would your advice be?I got in on a popular discount website and I use it but I really can’t see that it is making any difference at all and it is quite time consuming Kind regards,
A.
Hi There Not knowing what the product is and how pronounced the lines are it is difficult to advise you on the possible results. Generally in the areas that concern you Botox is our first choice of treatment and you can get fantastic results with it. I would suggest a consultation to advise you of some results.
Kind regards
Adam

Will dermal fillers be suitable for a 75 year old who bruises easily?

May 25th, 2012
Q.
Hello there Adrian, I recently celebrated my 75th birthday! My daughter thinks i should treat myself to some dermal fillers, as she just had some herself – they look great! My skin on my arms and legs bruises quite easy, just thinking that if i did have dermal fillers that my face would bruise also! Obviously due to my age i do have wrinkles although they are not as bad as a usual 75 year olds so i think dermal fillers would really make me look a lot younger! Could i please have your advice, thank you Adrian.

Thank you for your enquiry.

Congratulations on your 75th Birthday and I hope you had an enjoyable day.

It is possible that as you age you might bruise more but normally the bruising from demal fillers is not too bad.

I think it is essential that you see a high quality injector and if you contact Aurora Skin Clinics on 01844 390110 and we can point you in the right direction.

Best Wishes

Can I have dermal fillers after recovering from cancer or are there restrictions?

May 14th, 2012
Q.
Hey there Adrian, I’ve been quite ill over the last few years with Cancer, which has taken its toll on my skin, i have a lot of wrinkles! I have fully recovered now and am wanting to look great again! Is there any restrictions for people that have had cancer? Will it put me at more risk? I’d really like to have some treatments maybe juviderm, but not at the risk of my health. What would you advise? Look forward to hearing from you!
A.
Hi

Thank you very much for your enquiry.

No there are no more restrictioen for people who have cancer with Dermal Fillers and they are often used in people who have been unlikely enough to get this condition as they tend to lose volume for their face.

I think it would be best for you to book a consultation with a pratcitioner to dscuss the best way forward for you. We would be happyu to see you here at Aurora Clinics and if you would like to book a consultation please do not heistate to contact us on 01844 214362.

Best Wishes
