July 27th, 2012
Q.
Hello, I had filler in my cheeks and lips and botox in my nose area. The botox has now gone, this was over 7 months ago but the filler i had in my cheeks and lips is still there. I keep getting large lumps in my lips and now on the right side of my cheek i can feel lumps do you think they will go? I cant find out what they have used, if it was a permenent filler what is the lengh of time they can last for and will they go in time? Thank you very much

Hi

Thank you for your enquiry.

It is unusual for the lumps to be there after seven months but is certainly possible to dissolve any filler left.

This is normally done with an enzyme called hyaluronidase which usually dissolves the filler.

Most practitioners would be able to perform this treatment and if you feel you would like to consider it please schedule an appointment with one of our specialists nurses by calling our offices on 01844 214362.

Is there a way to test for allergies of filler or botox treatment before hand?

July 3rd, 2012
Q.
Hello there Adrian, I have read on your site that you can experience allergic reactions to the filler/botox treatments. I am considering treatment for my crows feet but worried that I would encounter a reaction, however slim. Is there a way you could test the treatment on the patient before you actually use it to see if there would be a reaction? Like how they ask you on the back of hair dyes to test the product on your hand before you place it on your hair? Thanks for your time and any advice you can give me.

Hi

Thank you for your enquiry.

It is very unusual to experience allergic reactions to fillers or Botox.

Botox is normally used for the crows feet area and I have never seen an allergic reaction ot Botox and is extremely rare.

I have never experienced hair dye reacting with Botox.

I think overall non surigcal teatments would be very safe in your case and if you would like any more information please contact us via Catherin Reeve on 01844 214362.

Is dermal filler the best treatment for furrow lines?

May 25th, 2012
Q.
Hi there

I am about to go ahead with dermal fillers for the furrow lines between my eye brows. The nurse has come round and given me advice as to the best treatment for this area (i was going to have botox but now it seems that the fillers will give a better result) the filler she is going to be using is Teosyal global, is this a good product?? does this have any increased side effects and is it as good as the gold standard restylane? I am only happy to go with a good product so this is a very important fact. Many Thanks

A.
Many thanks for your enquiry.

Generally, we would recommend botox to this area as it gives a more natural look.

We tend to recommend Botox first to this area followed by fillers as that gives the most natural results.

Please feel free to contact us on 01844 390110 or speak to your nurse.

I’m on a budget but am looking for a non surgical treatment to improve the appearance of the deep wrinkles on my forehead, cheeks and nose?

April 25th, 2012
Q.
Hi I am currently on a budget but am looking for some non surgical treatments to improve my appearance. You see my husband recently left me and i have been enjoying a new lease of life and been keeping fit and have lost some weight and given up smoking. However one thing that is really getting me down is the appearance of my face. I am 42 years old and have developed deep wrinkles in my forehead that seem to be ingrained in and when i move my eyebrows makes them look ten times worse. I also have some deep lines between my cheeks and nose that i think didnt help with smoking. In general my skin tone is not too bad and have been having facial treatments at the salon but wanted something more dramatics. My only concern is cost and that i am going to be paying hundreds and hundreds of pounds every few months. And also if i stop having the treatment will the wrinkles and lines be worse after the effects wear off. Sorry for all the questions but this is something i am seriously considering once i know my budget and the procedure. with kind regards hoping to hear back

Hi, Thank you for your enquiry and congratulations on giving up smoking.

You are right that some smoking can make lines on your face slightly deeper and it does sound as if you would benefit from Botox treatment and dermal fillers to the cheeks.

It may best to send a photos of yourself to info@aurora-clinics.co.uk and one of ou aesthetic nurses will be delighted to get back to you to discuss the best way forward.
